You Snoring? Beware of Heart Disease Risk
If you frequently snore and feel sleepy during the day, you may experience a condition called impaired snoring or “sleep apnea”. Although this may also be side effects of a disease such as asthma and diabetes, sleep apnea is often not diagnosed as “a hidden epidemic.”
What exactly is snoring or sleep apnea disorder (OSA / Obstructive Sleep Apnea)?
Generally, the muscles that control the tongue and soft tissue palate will keep the airway stays open during sleep. If the muscles are too relaxed, the breathing passages become narrow and this resulted in people snore. If the airway is narrowed, it will cause difficulty in breathing. Sometimes, the respiratory tract to be closed at all so the person stops breathing or has become what is called a “disturbance of sleep apnea.” This can last for ten seconds or more. This can happen many times can even be hundreds of times during sleep.
